Bringing an inclusive spirit to the “lonely game” of tennis, our mission is to connect ALL competitive tennis players in the mid-Hudson Valley. We organize events, schedule league matches, experiment with new formats, send long emails, and, someday, if it all works out, we’ll start printing t-shirts. If you love the game of tennis, TLOV will love you right back.

What = TLOV™?
The Original League Recipe: Players are drafted to different teams based on level and value (how often they play, how often they win, singles/doubles versatility, etc.). Teams earn 2 points for every win, 1 point for every match tie-breaker loss. After 8-10 weeks and a few hundred matches, the top 6 teams move on to the playoffs, competing for the coveted Commissioner’s Cup. The League has it all: cool logos, power rankings, player awards, rivalry and grudge matches, team salary-caps, trades, Mayhem Matchups, individual player stats and rankings. What more could you want? (Seriously, what more? Let’s add that, too!)
Inter County Cup = Ulster County vs Dutchess County. Mid-September, two nights only, college team tennis rules/format: 1 set of double followed by best of 3 sets singles match, no-ad scoring, play service lets. 50+ players, with 20 courts in action at the same time.
Ravi Cup = USA vs The World. Late-December/early-January, two-week event. Our version of the Laver Cup. USA players vs players who were born, raised, or have close ties to other countries. Over 20 different countries were represented in the 2021/22 Ravi Cup. 70+ players.
In the downtime between the Ulster Open in early-July and the Woodstock Open in late-August, TLOV organizes a variety of different events to fill out the summer schedule, including tournaments, cups, round-robins, and community days.
If you played Tennis Risk with us (the board game Risk, but instead of rolling dice, we played tiebreakers), then you get it. For some of our players, anything other than a traditional tennis match, regular scoring – well, they just can’t do it. But we’ve also got some kinky swingers of the tennis racquet out there who’ll try anything once. And, yes, it’s true that we organized a Dungeon Master-themed King-of-the-Hill tournament. That actually worked out pretty well!

TLOVers come out at night. Nothing to hide, honest. Indoors or under the lights or late into a hot and steamy summer night, we play tennis like we mean it. Because nighttime / Is the right time / To hit for the lines! Bring it, all you lovers of the T!
Next Season: TLOV/IV - Oct 18 22
